Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is an AIFF file?
AIFF (Audio Interchange File Format) was developed by Apple in 1988 as the Mac equivalent of uncompressed WAV. It stores raw PCM audio samples in big-endian byte order.
Q: Will converting AIFF to MP3 degrade sound quality?
AIFF is uncompressed master quality. When encoding to 320 kbps MP3, human ears cannot distinguish between the uncompressed master and the MP3 in double-blind listening tests.
Q: Does this support both .aiff and .aif extensions?
Yes, both .aiff and .aif extensions as well as compressed .aifc files are fully supported.
