What is Plex Media Server?

Plex Media Server offers you a better way to save all kind of media files including movies, shows, and more. It can recognize any kind of video, music, or photo format and make it possible to transfer them to any device (Windows, Linux, or Mac computers, Android/iOS devices, video game consoles like Xbox and PlayStation or smart TV like Apple TV). All you need to do is just install Plex apps on any of your devices and navigate it easily.

How to Stream Apple Music with Plex Media Server?

Since Plex Media Server is such a handy software for transferring media files, you might want to rely on it under any circumstance. For instance, you might desire to use it to stream Apple Music to smart TV or Android devices (Samsung, Sony, HTC, and so on). However, there is a piece of bad news you should know about: Plex Media Server is incompatible with AC3 audio. That is to say, you cannot directly transfer Apple Music (which contains AC3 audio) to other devices. Is there any solution to fix this problem? Yes.

Firstly, you need to convert DRM-protected Apple Music to plain audio formats (let's say MP3) by using a DRM removal software like Apple Music Converter.

Secondly, you can freely sync the converted music files to any device you want via Plex Media Server.

Now let’s follow the guide below to see how to achieve your goal.

Part 1. How to Convert Apple Music to MP3

Since Apple Music is restricted by DRM protection, you would need a special converter which can crack the DRM from Apple Music. Here is my recommendation - Apple Music Converter, which is specially designed for converting Apple Music to popular DRM-free audio formats (MP3, FLAC, AC3, etc.). Beside music files, this software is also able to strip off DRM from AA/AAX audiobooks and extract audio files from iTunes movies, TV shows and Podcasts. Win and Mac version are both available.

Step 1. Select the Tracks to Convert in Apple Music Converter

Firstly, install and launch Apple Music Converter in your PC. The whole iTunes playlist will be shown on Apple Music Converter. Now choose any track from the playlist. You can choose multiple tracks and batch convert them.
