How to Record Audio on macOS Sierra

Step 1. Launch Streaming Audio Recorder on macOS Sierra

Download, install and launch the software on Mac. Go to "Record" section when the main interface shows up.

Step 2. Select audio source to record

Go to "Audio Source" from the main interface and then select the audio source you like: System sound, Microphone and Both System Sound and Microphone.

Step 3. Start recording sound from Mac

Now click on the Red button to start recording streaming audio or microphone. When you finish recording, click on the Red button again to stop capturing.

Tips: Once the recording is done, this program will automatically identify the music file's ID3 tag. Or you can manually edit the ID3 tag for your recordings. You are able to edit the title, artist, album, year, genre, cover, etc.

Method 2Capture Sound on macOS Sierra with QuickTime Player

Step 1. Launch "QuickTime Player" from your Applications folder.

Step 2. Open the "File" menu and select "New Audio Recording".

Step 3. You will see a very simple user interface with sound recording controls.

Note: You may click on the Down Arrow next to the record button to select your sound input (microphone) and sound Quality settings. Microphone volume is adjustable with the slider under the record button.
