How to Download Apple Music for Offline Listening

Apple Music is a great way to get new songs directly from artists and recommendations from the numerous music services. However, Apple Music is purely a music streaming service which needs an Internet connection to flint through tracks. What's worse, you cannot burn Apple Music tracks to a CD, play them on other devices that aren't linked to your Apple Music account and you will lose access to your Apple Music tracks once your Apple Music subscription is canceled.

But did you know that you can actually save tracks from Apple Music for offline listening? It's a great option to get rid of all troubles mentioned above. Once downloaded the Apple Music songs to your iOS device/Mac/PC, you can listen to them anytime anywhere. In this guide we'll show you how to make Apple Music available offline and save them to any device you like for playback.

Part 1 Download Apple Music for Offline Listening

Step 1. Enable iCloud Music Library

Go to "Settings" in your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, then choose "Music" and ensure iCloud Music Library is enabled.

Step 2. Add the Apple Music Songs to iCloud Music Library

Select the song or album and look for the "More" options icon, which will be on the bottom right side. Click on it and select "+" icon to add the item to your iCloud Music Library. After that, the music your selected will now show up under "My Music".

Step 3. Download the Apple Music Tracks to Your Device

Now switch to the "My Music" tab and navigate to the playlist, album or song you previously selected. Now click on the "More Options" icon and you will see a Cloud icon. Click on the "Cloud" and the selected item will be downloaded to your device. When it is finished, you will see the Cloud icon replaced by another icon showing an iPhone with a checkmark indicating it's available for offline playing.

Note: This method is only a temporary solution to listen to Apple Music offline. You can use it to keep and play those downloaded tracks on your device for as long as your Apple Music account is still active. But if you cancel, then all the Apple Music tracks will become unplayable because of Apple's DRM protection.
